hizzay to the izzey
so i've moved to a new apartment, my first on my own in vegas, and they have a small gym for use by the residents, so i have been taking advantage of it. i do about 30 minutes on the eliptical trainer 4 days a week. i don't know if it is having an effect of me, but i assume it is. that's the problem with trying to get into shape, the changes are so slow that you don't really see them yourself. it takes someone who hasn't seen you for a while to comment on them for you to realize that you are making body modification progress. the main reason i'm motivated to exercise is to improve my ultimate playing, and i think it is having an effect on that. my goal is to get in shape enough that people no longer pick me to defend when they need a rest. in paticular there is one guy who comes out occasionally who likes to line up on slow people so that he can make lots of plays since he is faster than them(although he has lost a step since i first started coming out, which makes me feel happy in a vindictive sort of way), and i want to be able to burn him badly enough that he never wants to cover me again. (is that so wrong?)
on to more important things, wil wheaton will be in vegas this weekend for a star trek convention and i would really like to go meet him, but i don't want to pay the $30+ for admission. maybe he'll have a book signing here someday. i remember not really liking weasley crusher on the series, in the same way i didn't like riker or troy. i didn't think they helped the series. i never had the hatred for them that the people who started the alt.weasleycrusher.die.die.die newsgroup did, they just weren't my favorite characters of the show. anyhow, years after the show i found wil wheaton's web site, and i have really enjoyed reading it for the past year. he seems to have become so comfortable in his skin in a way that i wish i was. i feel a strange sort of pride that someone i used to watch when they were a kid on tv has become such an intelligent, thoughtful man(as if i had any part in it).
oh and does anyone what to be a part of my "when will bush fuck up again" market that i'm starting to help predict presidential stupidity?
