finally i get around to posting my waterlogged treo pics.

as an update to go along with these pics, the pda part of the treo works fine after drying out, except for a little(one pixel high) orange stripe across the top, but the phone part doesn't work at all, no signal.

joe strummer has died from an apparent heart attack.

the clash is one of my favorite bands, and the death of joe strummer is making me really depressed. i got into the clash a little late, starting to listen to them when rock the casbah came out, but i quickly started buying their back albums, and found in them a sense of purpose that had been lacking in my life. they are responsible to a great extent for my passion about political issues.

drink one for the only man i know of who managed to fuck nuns without ever joining the church. d.o.g. was never just another story for joe strummer.

well, trett baby resigned his position right on time. i was getting a little worried about my prediction, as the end of the week was drawing near, but he came through. i'm really kind of disappointed that he resigned, as i was hoping he would fight for it tooth and nail, ending in his resigning from the senate completely. it didn't happen, but maybe he will continue to make and ass of himself, and have to resign anyhow. maybe he can blame the jews for something. imagine him saying "if only hitler had won in 1945, we wouldn't have had all these problems." hey, it could happen. he does like the kkk... um, i mean the ccc.

vanilla white fish and vmware linux

so i had two weird dreams last night, i'm sure i had more, but two that i remember. now i'm on the patch right now, so having weird dreams is pretty much sop, but one of these was especially weird.

i'll talk about the second one first, since i know why i had it. i was working for some company who was trying to switch over to linux, and were also involved in detecting problems with something(it was a dream, forgive me for not knowing the details). they had something that wouldn't run on linux, so we were trying to use vmware to allow them to run said program from linux, and they were having problems. now i am planning to switch my home machine over to linux, and am also trying to figure a way for my friend to do the same. he needs to run autocad, so i am thinking about getting vmware to allow him to run autocad from inside linux, so that explains that dream. on to the first dream.

i was on a tour of an historic marijuana farm, and the tour guide was an indian(before you get upset, i have been told by many indians that they prefer indian to native american). at the end of the tour, we came to a fish cleaning station, where the guide started to explain how to fillet a white fish. i remember feeling uncomfortable because he was talking about the differences between white and black fish. he then told us that there was a spot on what would be the forehead of the white fish that had a gland that produced a strong vanilla taste, and proceded to show us how to get the vanilla out of it. he then made us all taste the vanilla by sucking on the forehead of the white fish. the explaination turned into a cooking class, where we used the natural vanilla flavor of the white fish to cook a wonderful vanilla white fish dish.

so there they are, if you have any thoughts on what the vanilla white fish dream is about i would love to hear them.

moving on, i give trent lott 1 week before he is either demoted to an inconsequential position, or is out on his ass entirely. i give bush 1 year before the economy is so far in the shitter that his chances for reelection become nonexistant. i'm far more confident about the lott prediction than i am about the bush one since i've learned to never underestimate the stupidity of the american public. remember that strom "segregation is good" thurman kept getting reelected for around a half century.

this nytimes article talks even more about trent lott's history of bigotry. i'm not really sure why this suprises people, he's done it many times before. remember the CCC (Council of Conservative Citizens)? (remember that one of the sounds the letter C can make is the K sound, try substituting it) if i remember correctly i mentioned this either here or on the coach and 6 site when it happened.

finally cardinal-knowledge law has stepped down. now if the rest of his minions would as well. one of the reasons the vatican was hesitant to have him resign was they feared the domino effect as people involved on a lower level of this scandal would be forced to resign as well. well, they should be. the time has past for us to stand by and let the supposed moral(and i use this sarcastically) leaders get by with abusing(in every sense) their flock(as in blindly following sheep). remember oral roberts saying that god was going to take him back if he didn't raise 8 million dollars? too bad the public was stupid enough to believe him, and even more stupid that they didn't realize that if he was actually "taken back" it would tremendously benefit society. why did the sniper have to shoot random people when there are so many deserving targets out there? oral would be easy, just look for the nut raving about the 900 foot fucking jesus.

since so many religions are clearly for profit, why doesn't the us government remove their tax exempt status? it seems to me that by making religions tax exempt we have violated the constitution which prohibits congress from making any law regarding the establishment of religion, since the law exempting them is regarding them(actually i don't know that there is an actual law about this, or if they are exempt because the separation prohibits the government from making a law that taxes them. if anyone knows the truth i would like to hear from them).

well, i have to go talk to my supervisor about my last pay check, and try to sort out why it was $300 short last time. wish me luck.

why isn't trent lott being forced to resign? maybe it will just take some time, but can we really have someone that bigotted, who has said that he believed in segregation, having such a prominant role in our governement? at the very least he should step down from his position as senate majority leader, and i feel he should be resign from the senate. after all this is a man who probably calls brazil nuts nigger toes, believes that the bible says interracial relationships are wrong, and supports the segregation policies of strom thurman in 1948 (something that even strom has come out and said was wrong). when will it be too much? plus his apology was about as weak as the calls in the vikings packers game

so glad to see that the packers who were all upset about the warren sapp hit(perfectly legal) have no problem doing the same in a situation where the game is over. and brett farve that little fucking pussy should have been ejected from the first game, and fined significantly more for his out of bounds, leading with the helmet, hit in the first game, has the audacity to claim that hovan was giving him the finger(not shown on the video tape) when it turns out that he was giving the finger to hovan(very clearly caught on video tape). and what is up with that small dicked motherfucker antuan edwards? when someone takes a knee, the play is over. why did you find it necessary to lay out chris walsh after he had taken a knee? just being a prick i guess, like the rest of the packers. he couldn't get a good hit on walsh legally so he took his cheap shot when he had the chance. maybe next time when sapp is looking to hit someone he should find either antuan edwards, or farve, at least then he'd be doing us a favor by removing dicks from the league. and another thing, the nfl officials have come out and said that they have blown at least 3 call in minnesota games that went against the vikings. and people still think we don't need full time officials.

naked christmas groping

i've gone to two christmas parties in the last 2 days. the first was for an unnamed architect (where my roommate craig works) at mandalay bay. it was quite the expensive shindig. there were more millionaires and billionaires there than i've ever seen in my life. needless to say it was an open bar and everyone was partaking. it started out with drinks and dinner at shanghai lilly, and followed up with drinks at red square, and then the house of blues foundation room. one of the features of these christmas parties is being groped, and this one was not exception. i have never been more felt up than i was that night, and usually by very wealthy people.

the next night was the ultimate frisbee christmas party at sue's house. it was not as expensive, but just as decadent. we had a gift exchange where you can either take a new gift from under the tree or steal a gift from someone else. the twist is that in order to steal you have to do a shot or take an item of clothing off. every time a gift is stolen the price for it goes up by 1. so if a gift is popular you might end up taking 5 shots or taking 5 items of clothing off. it adds some strategy to stealing, as you might steal something you don't really want because you know that they will steal it back and possibly get naked in the process. one more rule is that naked is naked, and getting naked means that noone can steal the gift, so if you really want something, all you have to do is get naked for it. when the exchange was finally over, there were 4 naked people, and another 5 people in various states of undress, plus a number of people who had drank 7 or more shots. i ended up with no clothes and a bottle of bombay sapphire. thankfully you are allowed to hold your gift in a strategic place.

anyhow, i hate my dad's family. ok hate may be too strong of a word, but they are sooooooo religious conservative, and i am soooooooo not. they actually think that people who fight to have separation of church and state want there to be no religion. dumbasses, what we're fighting for is true religious freedom. we want you to be able to practice whatever dumb ass thing you believe, we just also want everyone else to be able to as well, and if the government starts to support one religion over another that won't be able to happen. why can't you see that getting god out of the government is protecting your right to practice your stupid, fucked up, bigotted religion?
