sectionals, and no respect

well tonight i am nursing my wounds from sectionals, drinking beer and watching the bears get their asses handed to them by the packers(i'm so torn by this, i have the bears picked to win in my pro pickem league, but i need donald driver to score a touchdown to win in fantasy football). now to describe my wounds:

the first injury i suffered was during warmups for our first game, when i layed out for a disc, and nailed my knee on a rock i hadn't seen. lots of blood, and quite a bit of swelling. it really wasn't that bad, but it did hamper my mobility a little. so then i was fine for the rest of the tournament until the last game, and the next to last point, when i was trying to d the disc, and d'ed it right as the offense caught it, we crashed together, and i went tumbling, ending up with a hyperextended elbow(or at least what i image a hyperextended elbow feels like. it did get bent past vertical, so is that hyperextended?), reaggrivating my knee, bruising my other knee, and my lower back. the only good thing about that injury was that it was at the end of the tournament, and i didn't have to miss any games. i think probably if i wasn't getting old that these injuries wouldn't be so disabling, but right now i think i would qualify for a handicapped parking spot.

after we had washed out, we went and watched the finals. two teams who both will be in the top 10 at nationals, the condors, and pbr streetgang. it was amazing and disheartening at the same time. they are sooooo fucking good, it almost seems like a completely different game. it's beautiful to watch, but it really drives home the fact that i will never be able to play ultimate as good as them.

so larry gets a blog set up on my server and he doesn't link back to me. no respect i tell you, no respect at all. :)

new developments

ok, so i finally got my tv card working again since moving. and even with sound. now if i was able to get all of my channels, but i think i know what the problem is, and i probably can get it fixed tomorrow.

hey, my hits have finally exceeded 15,000. i realize it's not much, and that many of them are spiders, and not people, but it still seems cool.

i'm playing fantasy football at work, and i have to admit that i am getting spanked to within an inch of my life. i am 0 and 2 and the average margin of loss has been 40 points. yikes.

just cuz i've become a linux household, it makes me want to push all things linux, like out of the box support for linux by savage. plus it looks really cool, rts meets fps.

sco

sco doesn't know where their code comes from. when will an american court step up and stop sco from slandering (or is it libel? actually i think it's both, they've said and written their accusations) the gnu/linux community? clearly they have no evidence since their 'poster child' stuff at sco forum has been proven to not be theirs, something sco couldn't figure out beforehand. sco is just a desperate company who thought they would be able to extort some cash out of ibm and linux/gnu users, but didn't have the intelligence to test their ideas before going public.

long time coming

so i really hate dubya, or shrub as my dad calls him. he's such a little opportunistic facist fuck. he and his cronies have taken 911 and used it for political gain. on top of that they have been driving the economy into the shitter while somehow convincing the american public that everything is ok. well the american public has recently started to realize that all is not well in shrubs fucked up america, and things will only get worse for him. americans are starting to smell the shit that runs out of the white house these days, and are slowly realizing that they don't want a president that smells like a hog farm on a hot day.

for those of you that missed it, listen to this 'fresh air' featuring paul krugman who writes for the nytimes. he has lots of interesting things to say, and he has the guts to call the politicians on their use of 911 for political gain.

lightning

well, 2 nights ago we had a huge lightning storm come through lv. so big that it woke me up and made me nervous enough to get up and unplug all my computers for about 1 1/2 hours. it's amazing the responsibility you feel when other people are depending on your server.

speaking of which, i have been salavating over an apc enclosure. if anyone wants to donate one to me, i would be more than willing to accept it. does amazon sell them? maybe i should add one to my wishlist. actually they no longer carry the enclosures, dammit.
