smokin' california

well, vegas is in the smoke shadow of the cali fires today. it's strange to not be able to see the sky because of the smoke. i think it's the first day without the sun in months. nothing but the smell of a campfire, and we're 200+ miles away, i can't imagine what it is like at the source. look for photos tomorrow.

commercials

just once i want a car commercial to say "amatuer driver, on an open road" and then have a huge accident.

i aquired tickets to see the amazing jonathan tonight or friday night. unfortunately i don't think i'm gonna make it either night. oh well.

overheard on the radio: "san diego now smells like a campfire permanently, at least for today." what is our world coming to?

will someone just shoot joe lieberman? i don't know why he bothers me, but he does.

triumph the comic insult dog has an album out.

and lucky7s is this weekend. should be fun.

gameboy daw

someone please buy me a little sound dj. go to the site and listen to the songs. it's amazing that these songs come from the gameboy. i think it's time to buy a programable cartridge and a gameboy. i want to be able to come into a place to play, and just bring my gameboy and an amp.

an update on the spam test. i am not being targeted through my posting, as i haven't gotten any spam since my last post. hopefully once i install mt-blacklist i will quit getting spam comments.

spam test

well, i'm gonna test out a theory that someone posted on a movable type discussion group, that they only get spam after they post, leading them to believe that the spammers are watching the movable type list of people using mt to choose their victims.

so since the gulf war 2 started, i've gotten a couple of evil comments in reply to my 'fuck george bush' posting from one guy. hey it's nice that he keeps coming back and reading my site. anyhow, a little while ago, someone else posted to a comment replying to said person. it's kind of strange to me because the original posting had nothing to do with the war on terrorism, or the gulf war 2(and was actually written months before the gulf war started), and it drew no comments until the war started, but since then has had 3 comments. maybe that's what the war was about, bringing more comments to my postings.

spam comments

so in the last two weeks or so i have gotten about 12 comments posted to my site that were spam. does anyone else get these? and does anyone have a way to avoid getting these? they're really starting to piss me off.

long time

so is this how the rest of the nation felt when minnesota elected jessie? what the fuck is california thinking? well, i guess it's time to send in your "total recall" petitions. it's a sham when you can buy a new election in the state with the largest economy in the nation. it's my belief that you should have to get a percentage of the people who voted in the last election to sign a recall petition, not just a percentage of eligable voters. i mean, if you didn't vote in the election, why should you be able to recall the person?

so for the last 5 days i've been fighting with ms exchange, and it has made me so glad i don't run ms products at home. the ms exchange database crashed after a migration, and i've spent 15+ hours on the phone with microsoft, only to be told that my database is fscked. great, if i had known that yesterday, i could have restored fridays stuff and been done with it, instead of wasting all day yesterday, and most of today. oh well, i guess it couldn't be helped.

i haven't exercised since sectionals. well, i have gone and played pickup a few times, but i haven't been on the eliptical trainer in 2 weeks. i guess tonight is the night i get back on that thing. it should be a good tension reliever, and i really could use some relief. i think i'll listen to ministry while i work out.
