thinks (or maybe things) i want to do next year
just thought i'd get a head start on making me new years to do list:
buy a house. i don't know if i can really afford this, but i would really like to own my own house. i find myself day dreaming about how i would set up my computer network, and my entertainment system(let's just say this involves lcd screens in every room).
get my motorcycle license. it turns out that the community college of southern nevada has a course that you can take that will give you your license without taking the test. i don't know how much it costs, but since they supply the motorcycle, it probably will be what i do to get my license. this todo will probably be followed by buying a vespa et4 or a truimph bonneville t100.
fall madly in love with a wonderful woman.
get my non-smoker tatoo.
lose 30 pounds. or at least be able to do 1 hour on the eliptical trainer at level 15(i'm currently up to 45 minutes at level 12). actually i'd like to do both.
vote shrub out of office.
get my mcse, and some sort of linux certification.

no more ide drives
now it is unpc to master and slave your hard drives in la. maybe master and servant would be more acceptable. or perhaps superior and subserviant. what do they suggest, primary primary, primary secondary, secondary primary, and secondary secondary. see what problems video people cause(i'm looking at you todd)?

kplaylist
for those of you who feel like it, my current mp3/ogg collection is up on kplaylist.netwerk-x.com. use login: guest password: guest. please be nice, as my connection isn't very fast, but you should be able to listen to a song or two, just don't listen all day long at work.
sco and my free lunch
so we'll start with my free lunch at pt's. so i went to lunch today at pt's bar and grill, and had a few drinks(hey, i'm a white collar worker) before my food showed up. when my burger got there, i went to open up the ketchup when to my great suprise the ketchup bottle exploded, covering my face, hair, shirt and pants with ketchup. so as a result i received my food and drinks at no charge. it was almost worth the exploding ketchup bottle. :)
sco... what can i say that hasn't been said. probably nothing, but here's the thing: they have yet to show any evidence to back up their claim, which was made around 6 months ago. but they have continued to flap their yap every goddamned day reiterating their claims that linux has sco source in it. the evidence that they have shown to people has been proven to be public domain code, code that was published in text books in the 70's. now they are claiming that bsd is next on their list, and also claiming that the threats from the linux community are sooooo bad that they need bodyguards. what darl, afraid of a few scrawny geeks? (and i don't condone theatening sco execs, although a pie in the face would be nice)
now on to mikey j. it appears as if my very own lvpd is in pursuit of the king of pop-the-cherry-of-little-boys(and you though the pope had this position all nailed down). first the raid on neverland, the home of the self described peter pan, now the arrest warrant, and negotiations for his surrender. i guess once you've talked about sleeping with 12 year old boys for sooo long in the media, the police finally come after you.
speaking of police actions, what's going on in iraq? now we're looking at early withdrawal. see, those bush's never could go all the way. first daddy pussies out, and now sonny boy sticks it all the way in, but doesn't know what to do once he's in there. i feel sorry for the female bush's, so unsatisfied, as both males blow their load so early, leaving the receptical of their efforts twisting in the wind.
so today i went out to a company to work on thier wireless mouse that a coworker of mine had tried to install twice unsuccessfully. turns out that he never installed the drivers for the mouse. i guess plug-n-pray has gotten good enough in 2000/xp that he forgot that you ever needed to install drivers for something.

aquabats
so the aquabats are back at the huntridge saturday for another show. now that i know what to expect, i should have even more fun than last time.
so it was brought to my attention that i have been injured more times playing ultimate(the noncontact sport) than my sister playing rugby(the full contact sport). although i think her injuries have been more severe, since i've never had my head split open playing ultimate.

wtf-n-stuff
so the vikings meltdown continues. it's like they are patching a leaky boat, but new holes keep opening.
how can the us government call the iraqi attacks against the us military terrorism?
i finally have business cards from holmans. it only took 7 months to get them. yea, business cards make me poop!
comdex is in town and i don't even really care. it's so much smaller than before, so it might better than last year, but last year was not so much fun. maybe it was the fact that my boss at the time made me feel guilty about going to comdex.

immaculate conception
ok, to all you motherfuckers who continue to tell me that i'm a complete and utter idiot when i correct them about what the immaculate conception refers to, here is a link to the catholic encyclopedia. just because you were raise catholic does not mean that you know anything about your faith. the immaculate conception refers to the conception of mary allowing her to be born without sin, not her conception of jesus. just a note, 'dan, don't argue with me, i was raised catholic' is a lousy fucking argument, as i have seen the dedication that most religious schools have for the truth, and it doesn't inspire confidence.

and the winner is...
belkin wins second place behind sco(no link for you biatch) for stupid move of the year, with their autospamming router.
calling all geeks
say this in your most gay voice, and feel superior to all those computer music late comers:
's b o s installed'
i'll see if i can get a sample of it somewhere.
and here it is:

opinions
does everyone think that people who disagree with them on issues that they are passionate about are just fucking stupid? how can they not see things the way i do? are they really that narrow minded, or are they that self serving? this is why i can't watch fox news.
i'm always a little scared when they make a movie out of a book that i've read. and now it's happening again. timeline is based on a book i read a few years ago. it's about time travel(duh), but in a way that was kind of unique. at least i thought so when i read it. it's very light, and escapist, maybe it will make a good movie. i'm waiting for neverwhere to be made into a movie. but i'm sure i'd hate it if they fucked it up. (as an aside for jon, i keep writing sure as shure because of your employer)
i don't think i should admit this, but i think neverwhere is the only gaiman i've read. but hey, i'm also watching buffy for the first time on dvd, so if anyone is looking for christmas presents for me, buffy dvds(i still need them all) or gaiman books(i also still need them all, as i've lost my copy of neverwhere).
oh and check out softball tenku on asian man records.

random thingies
"we need to honor the fallen memory of the firefighters who died" the fallen memory? is our memory so short that in 1 week it has fallen? just another example of bush's stupidity.
well, the matrix is out today, and i'm too tired to go see it. i think that makes me officially old.
lucky7s went very well. i think for a 2nd year tourament, it was spectacular. all props to eric. discoelvis did the best we've ever done since i've been a part of the team. we actually won an elimination game. yay!
i may hit 20000 hits to my website this year. of course 19,980 are spider hits, but hey, who cares. i really need to install my spam comment filter. i got hit again a couple of nights ago, and it's really starting to piss me off.
so often i drive by wayne newton's house on the way home. is it just me, or is that kind of surreal? i get to see his horses alot, but i've yet to see his show. i only live about 2 big blocks from his complex, so i guess it makes sense that i would drive past it alot.
anyhow, goodnight jon, goodnight carmen, goodnight matthew, goodnight emma, goodnight moon.
''rock me amadeus' was a great song to break dance to with a big grin on your face.' i love the 80's strikes back quote of the day.
