bronson democrat
for those of you who don't know, and honestly why would you, my fathers mothers maiden name was bronson. now every 2 years there is a bronson family reunion, where anywhere from 50 - 100 bronsons come out to chill with the family. of those bronsons, about 10 of them are liberals, and most of them don't attend the reunion, but those are the bronsons who will appreciate this photo the most.

i saw this in the parking lot of my apartment complex and i just had to take a picture for my dad to see. i thought about posting it to the bronson family mailing list, but as i've gotten told that i would never get spoken to by a great uncle for less than that, i think i'll choose to not stir up the fire.
in other things (but still photographic) here is a preview of a project i've been thinking about doing.

please wish me luck in my walk-run of the race for the cure on saturday, i'll need it.

damn morals
so i arrived home today to find a partially disassembled laptop w/ a xbox stacked on top of it to the immediate left of my door. i, being the fine upstanding young man that i am, immediately call my friend mike to see what he thought i should do ethicswise. after talking to him for a while i decided to call the police and report it. what a waste of time. first they switched me to dispatch, who told me that they wouldn't dispatch for that, and would i bring it in to the station. i then asked if maybe i should just put up fliers stating that i had found some electronics, and if anyone could describe them that i would return them. she then suggested that i talk to the apartment managers at which time the silent listening supervisor cut in and said that they would definately be dispatching someone to pick up the things, and what was my address. when i gave them my address they realized that i had called the wrong city and switched me over to the henderson pd, where i had to explain about the mysterious appearing xbox once again. they said that they would send someone out to pick it up, and sure enough, 1 hour later there they were. they asked me questions about it, told me to keep my hands out of my pocket, asked when i left for work, how long i had been living here, the woman looked at the old paper that had been delivered to my non-existent neighbor, asked where i worked, and took down my license and ssn. all for about $300 of stuff. i should have just taken it, damn morals.

thomas jefferson muzzle awards
jefferson muzzles for 2004 have been released. interesting reading to say the least.
so much for this country being built on freedom. i think we're going to have to change the national anthem to take out 'home of the free' maybe we could replace it with something about god. oh wait, it's already there in the 4th verse.

raping the first amendment
so glad that justice scalia has such a great respect for the freedom of the press. and at a speech where he was talking about how great the constitution is no less.
what has come of our countries ideals? i'm not niave enought to think that this kind abuse of power hasn't always happened, but at least in the past they tried to be discrete about it. maybe it just didn't make the news, but i think that in the past people would be embarrassed to get caught giving a speech and preventing the press from accurately covering it. i guess unjustice scalia doesn't want anyone to be able to quote him at all. what's he afraid of, are people going to find out his real thoughts? i guess this is what happens when your scared shitless by nexus-lexus

spam-diddly-am
well, it's been a few days since i employed the scode and i have yet to get any spam, and today i got my first real comment, so that must be working. i suppose i should get off my ass and get it looking cleaner on the comment page, but i just got contacts for the first time in 10 years, and i'm not sure i can spend that much time in front of the computer, so you'll have to wait.
and yes i had to look up how to spell diddly.

security code
so i'm trying to stem the flood of comment spam by setting up scode which forces you to type in the text displayed in graphic format in order to post comments. this will only work for spambots that are posting comments, and i'm not sure if i'm getting hit by those, or if it's individual people posting, but i guess we'll find out.
