"you will feel a little prick and then a burning sensation" he said seconds before plunging the 3" needle into my knee. and sure enough there was indeed a burning sensation as he put the cortosone into my knee. now i just have to wait for 2 weeks to see what happens. hopefully at the end of it i will get to play ultimate, at the very least i will get an mri and know what the fuck is wrong with my knee.

the doctor said that he thought the fatty part of my knee that is between the kneecap and the top and bottom of the knee is inflamed and had calcium deposits in it, and that hopefully the cortosone shot would give it time to heal. so far the only thing i've noticed is that my knee is stiff and swollen, and my lip has come back since my knee feels very weird.

so randy is no more. i just wish they had gotten more for him, but maybe we'll get to draft mike williams. plus we now have someone named napolean so let the napolean dynamite jokes fly.

getting old

well, i must be getting old, as i have old man's disease. i haven't been able to play ultimate for 7 months because of a knee injury that rehab and drugs have not helped(and now it turns out that bextra, the drug i've been taking, has been banned by kaiser). then about 6 weeks ago i think i tore a muscle in my right triceps which has kept me from doing my full workout. it makes getting into shape very hard when everytime you do something you hurt yourself. anyhow, i'm going in for another visit with the doctor where i plan to insist that i get an mri for my knee and hopefully i will get to find out what is wrong with it. i just hope it is something that can be worked on, and doesn't keep me from ever playing ultimate again. actually i hope it doesn't require the kind of treatment that causes my insurance to want to drop me, cuz that would suck.
